QuoteG PRIVACY POLICY

INTRODUCTION
At QuoteG, your privacy is highly esteemed. This Privacy Policy directly applies to the mobile apps, website app or desktop app collectively known as the ‘App’.
We make all efforts to manage your information transparently. As such, we have taken reasonable efforts to write this Privacy Policy in a plain, easy to comprehend language. In actual sense, we want you to read and comprehend our privacy practices.
Emails and Newsletter:
The following is applicable only after you sign up to QuoteG with a valid email address or if you sign up to our newsletter by supplying your email:
When you supply your email address or verify your email you agree to allow us to send you emails which are needed to facilitate use of our service for example to send you verification email or notifications. You will be given the option in app or in email to opt in to receive marketing emails from us. When we do add your email address to our mailing list(s), emails you will recieve will only come from us. You may receive additional emails from the developer of the specific app/software related to the app or technical support/updates.
We will never sell, disclose or pass on your email address to any other third party.
QuickQuote Service:
When you submit a new QuickQuote request via the app or website form we will store the details on our server for 5 years or earlier if you request for deletion of such data. The following personal details will be stored on our server if provided:
- Your non precise location such as your Town or County
- Your vehicle registration number
- Make and Model of your vehicle
- Details of work supplied
- Your name
- Your contact details
- Your IP address (to prevent spamming of the service)
- Your device and browser name (such as Windows: Firefox)
- Any photo you uploaded
We will then use your location to find all active businesses in that area that are available to do the work. We will then forward all the details you provided and the photo, securely via HTTPS, to them in order for them evaluate and contact you if appropriate.
We will not forward your IP or device type.
We store your QuickQuote details in order to prevent abuse of the service and to have a reference to the details you provided in case any business has any issues with it. If you abuse the service in any way you will be banned from using the service and if appropriate reported to the police or relevant authoritative bodies such as fraud prevention organisations.
By using our QuickQuote service, you signify your acceptance of this privacy policy. If you do not agree with the terms outlined here, please refrain from using the service.
Personal Data and Location:
When you create an account, we will make a record of personal information that you submit on our server’s database; this is used to identify your account and enable login. Read more about this in our Terms of Service. When using our QuoteG app or software you will be required to create a personal profile and provide personal and contact details including photos. Your actual password is never stored on our server so if you lose or forget it you will have to request a new password. For all accounts we store the following:
- Username
- Email Address
- Phone Number (optional)
- Town
- Last date you updated your profile
- Any details you enter about your car such as your reg plate number
- Any photos you submit / upload – for example when adding a car to your profile or when submitting a photo with a quote request
For business accounts once you have created a business directory listing the following information will also be stored:
- Business contact person’s full name
- Full business address including post code
- Optional mobile number
- Optional website address
- Optional Logo image if you upload one.
QuoteG does not share any profile details with any third party, except that which is necessary for the functioning of the app/software. For example, for functioning of the app when a user submits a request to a business our server will send the following details to relevant businesses:
- Username
- Location (City / Town / County)
- Relevant vehicle details such as model, reg number, mileage, fuel type.
This data will also be stored confidentially on our server databases and sent via email to the businesses. Details will be stored indefinitely or until QuoteG service is fully discontinued or you request for deletion of your data.
If you give permission for Push Notifications in the app we will determine your FCM device token and then this will be uploaded, stored on our server database (linked to your profile) and shared with Google Firebase for the purpose of sending you push notifications. We may send push notifications as part of app feature functionality or for news and updates.
If you give permission for location access, we will use the GPS location service on your device to determine your precise location in order to find businesses near you in the business directory. Please note this is optional and you can use the directory without allowing access to your devices location. The location co-ordinates will be uploaded to our server but are not stored or shared with any third parties.
Your username will be publicly visible to other users if you post in the Q&A section or to businesses when you submit a quote request or chat with them. We may use and store your IP address in order to certain features to work or for security reasons to prevent suspicious log ins to your accounts. Your location will not be shared with other users but will be shown to businesses when you make a quote requests as it is necessary for them to ascertain if they can do the work you need.
In some cases we will store publically available information about your business on our server for the sole purpose of a free business directory listing for your business. In such cases we will not store your contact name or any information only available by submission by yourself during signup, verification or updating your directory listing. You can contact us to remove your free directory details from our database at any time by emailing us and giving us 7 days (or longer during exceptional circumstances out of our control) to process and action the request. We also will not use any logo or artwork for your business in the directory unless you have given us written or verbal permission, or you have submitted the content yourself by uploading / referencing to URL of image.
Subject Access Requests:
We are committed to complying with the applicable data privacy and security requirements in the countries in which we operate. GDPR allows you to make a request to DBS for copies of all personal information held about you. This is known as a Subject Access Request. We aim to provide you with a copy of the information we hold about you within one calendar month of receiving a valid request. To begin this request, please use our contact details below.
Right to be forgotten:
If you no longer want us to make active use of your information, you may send an e-mail to email address below. Place ‘Delete My Account’ in the subject line and include your first name, last name, e-mail address, and your username (if applicable) in the body of the e-mail (for example, your Facebook user ID). We will respond to your request within thirty days. Please note that certain records, for example those relating to payments or customer service matters, will be held for legal and accounting purposes. If you have sent content through or posted content on the Service, we may not be able to delete it. You are advised to contact us if this is the case. You can also, if available, click on Delete Account in the app and request to fully delete your account, in such case all your account details will be permanently deleted.
Desktop and Mobile Ads:
QuoteG displays our own in house and third party ads, these may be banners ads or video ads. When you click on an ad we collect anonymous data such as your location, IP address and device type (such as Android or iPhone). The location is not personal and will be in the form of “City, Country”. This information will be kept confidential by us and not passed on to any third party. We reserve the right to use this data ourselves for the purpose of improving our service and business.
If you do not consent to this please purchase disable ads feature (if available) in app or uninstall the app. If you want further information about ads in our apps please contact us.
Device Information:
When using QuoteG the app will have to identify what device type you are using, the OS version/name, cameras available and what permissions you have allowed the app to have such as access to photo gallery. On iOS we detect your unique iCloud Token, if you are signed in to your iCloud account. On Android we detect your device ID.
We have to do this to enable or disable certain device specific features. We may also make a record of this information on our server if it is required for statistical purposes (for example we want to see how many users are on Windows Phone) or for the functionality of the app.
Email Marketing:
During the process of our marketing campaigns we may occasionally send out emails to your business email address found via legitimate mean either via your website, online directory, store contact email, or via referral by someone that knows you or your business. We always send out an opt in email first, explaining the reason for the contact, our full address, an option to opt in and a permanent opt out feature. If you do not respond or opt out, we will never email you again. We will only email you if the service or product we are offering is relevant to your business and never send out irrelevant SPAM or bulk emails. We would, therefore, appreciate that if you do not feel the email is relevant or do not wish to be emailed from us again then please simply opt out rather than marking our email as spam, this can cause problems with legitimate emails being sent to your mail provider, other opted in members may then not receive emails from us and thus can cause problems. Also please note intentionally marking legitimate emails as SPAM can lead to unnecessary load on your ISP and have an impact on your email account.
Cookie Policy
To make the QuoteG website work properly, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on your device. Most big websites do this too. A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size, and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.
How do we use cookies?
A number of our pages use cookies to remember your display preferences, such as contrast colour settings or font size. They may also use your browsing history to show you more relevant ads. Also, some videos embedded in our pages use a cookie to anonymously gather statistics on how you got there and what videos you visited.
